“Low Cost” Pore Expanded SBA-15 Functionalized with Amine Groups Applied to CO2 Adsorption
The CO2 adsorption capacity of different functionalized mesoporous silicas of the SBA-15 type was investigated and the influence of textural properties and the effect of the silicon source on the CO2 uptake studied. Several adsorbents based on SBA-15 were synthesized using sodium silicate as silicon source, replacing the commonly used tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS). Thus, we synthesized three ...
متن کاملImproving CO2 adsorption with new amine-functionalized Y-type zeolite
In this work, a new synthesized Y-type zeolite with an Si/Al molar ratio of 2.5 (NaY) was modified with amines, in order to probe the influence of the modification of the adsorbent’s surface on CO2 adsorption. The three selected amines were diethanolamine, tetraethylenepentamine, and 2- methylaminoethanol. The surface nature of NaY was changed after amine modification, which causes a...
متن کاملPore-expanded SBA-15 sulfonic acid silicas for biodiesel synthesis.
Here we present the first application of pore-expanded SBA-15 in heterogeneous catalysis. Pore expansion over the range 6-14 nm confers a striking activity enhancement towards fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) synthesis from triglycerides (TAG), and free fatty acid (FFA), attributed to improved mass transport and acid site accessibility.
متن کاملFormation of cyanide-functionalized SBA-15 and its transformation to carboxylate-functionalized SBA-15
Cyanide-functionalized mesoporous silica SBA-15 (CN/SBA-15) with pore diameters larger than 6 nm has been prepared by a one-pot synthesis. The structure of CN/SBA-15 is affected by the amount of the functional silane 2-cyanoethyltriethoxysilane (CTES) and the conditions of co-condensation in the acidic aqueous solution of the triblock copolymer Pluronic P123: whereas direct mixing of the silica...
متن کاملSynthesis of Cu nanoparticles in mesoporous silica SBA-15 functionalized with carboxylic acid groups.
In this study, the mesoporous silica SBA-15 materials containing carboxylic acid groups were used as an effective support to synthesize Cu nanoparticles. Various Cu loading levels from 4% to 13% on SBA-15 catalysts produced an average particle size of 2.8 to 3.1 nm, regardless of the Cu content.
